Miss Swig didn’t begin with a business plan.
It began with a feeling —
that we were all doing too much, and enjoying it too little.
I’d spent years hosting, gifting, travelling, showing up for people, pouring drinks at dinner parties, baby showers, birthdays, girls’ weekends. I loved being the one who made things feel special. But the effort always came at a cost and often pulled me out of the moment… mixing last-minute, playing bartender instead of being present. And when I wasn’t drinking? The options felt like an afterthought. They were flat—both in flavour and feeling.
I started to notice how often drinks weren’t just about taste. They were about identity. You were a “drinker” or you weren’t. You brought wine, or you brought... what? Juice? Water? Something that said “I’m here, but not really part of this”?
HOW THE IDEA CAME ABOUT
And that’s where
Miss Swig
came from. Drinking had become binary.
You were in or you were out. There was little room for discretion, for nuance, for choice. Not a gap in the market, but a gap in the experience.
We created Miss Swig because the drinks we wanted didn’t exist.

Meet Kate, the founder of Miss Swig
Kate has always been someone who throws herself into life—traveling, creating, and finding beauty in the details. With a background in business and marketing and a love of art, fashion, and photography, she brings both creativity and curiosity to everything she does.
When she’s not at her desk, you’ll find her painting or wandering through an art gallery, tending (with mixed success) to her bonsai plants, catching up with friends, or spending time with her beloved poodle. She’s happiest when she’s creating, connecting, and making the people around her feel special.
But when it came to drinks, there were plenty of times she felt out of place—especially on the occasions she wasn’t drinking alcohol. The options were usually a sugary RTD or a mocktail that felt more like a soft drink than part of the moment.
MISS SWIG grew from that feeling: the idea that everyone deserves something that feels thoughtful, fun, and a little more like them. Up for anything and always ready to turn an idea into reality, Kate built MISS SWIG to stir things up—for herself, her friends, and now, for everyone.
